If my memory serves me correctly, she was originally built as a liner tender with her sister the Blairne in the Liffey yards in Dublin - they are largely the same design as the Mersey ferries, hence the similarity...
The Cill Airne has now been sold to become a floating restaurant in Dublin, Ireland. She is currently being 're-fitted' in Cork Dockyard .I believe they intend restoring her to her orignal build condition undoing the many modifications made to her during her time as the training vessel for the Irish Nautical College.
As a former cadet who served on her, I'll miss the old girl :-(

I Understand the original sale fell through because her sewerage system is not designed for modern environmental sensibilities.
She failed her last bottom survey too. The refit is going well, and her bridge is currently chopped back to the sheltered bridge wing and enclosed wheelhouse which was traditional in the early 60s.

She looks very similar to the mersey ferry, cant remember names though.
