Description:

1,206 g.t. built 1959.
Not a great angle but a rare shot to see this Honduran flagged vessel actually looking like she is about to do some work from a wharf at Gravesend on 16/1/82.
She had prior to this become something of a landmark on the nearby Denton Slipway under the name of El Hussein. Prior to this, up until 1979 she was the Dorset Coast of the long gone Coast Lines which in their latter days became part of the P&O conglomerate which seems to have done for our shipping heritage what British Leyland did for our motoring one.
Interestingly, in a copy of the L.S.I. from the time she is listed as a cellular container ship but this looks a bit over-ambitious judging by the photograph! No idea what happened to her subsequently.

My ex brother in law (Michael Pledge) was the Captain of this ship at this period of time.
I was told he died whilst in command of a Lapthorn managed ship,en passage of the dutch/belgian coast.
