Nice to find this photo while searching WWII ship records. The SS Frank Lykes was originally launched in April, 1944 as the Victory Ship Fair Wind. My father, a Kings Point Merchant Marine, served as Third Asst. Engineer on the Fair Wind for at least the voyage from London to New York City, June 18 to July 4, 1944, two weeks after D-Day.
