Description:
On 28/29 June the historic steam coaster ROBIN, built at Millwall on the Thames in 1890, and now a museum ship and community art gallery was taken from the Thames to Lowestoft for a six-month hull repair project. Before she could be negotiate the bridges to leave her customary berth in front of the Museum of London in Docklands, her masts and funnel had to be removed. On 28/6 she locked out of the West India Dock assisted by tug NAPIA - she went down the Thames astern with the bridle already fitted for the normal bow-first sea-tow from the Estuary to Lowestoft.
