Surprised to find only a couple of shots of her on the site. They may be ugly and unloved but I can't see this generation being around for much longer. She is 27 years old - if she was a general cargo vessel or a bulker of this age, there would be massive interest.........but for the unloved car carrier.........Oh well............
First day's outing with new EOS450D.........very impressed so far.

The 860 is probably easier to carry around. I have now got the 24-105 IS and 70-200 IS f4 lenses, so I don't have to bother changing lenses now, one on EOS300 camera, other on 450 !!!! But they are relatively heavy, especially as I am also still taking slides and lug around a Nikon F90 with a 80 - 200 f2.8 lens........but I look upon it as a sort of weight training..........about all I can manage these days.
With hindsight, if I had bought the 24-105 first I would probably have got to 100-300 to go with it, but I bought the 70-200 first !!
I have to say the large screen on the back of the 450 is superb, really easy to read the various bits, and especially as I normally use glasses to read.
As for looking an idiot, I don't think it matters if you are on the back of a tug or on the beach, someone will think we're nuts, but we know different, we are Shipspotters !!!!!! and Shipspotter rule !!!!!
