Description:

There is a long tale associated with this one. The hull was originally built by OAO Kvaerner Vyborg Verf., Vyborg as one of 4 sisters, hull numbers 211 - 214. They were towed to Gdańsk to be completed by Cenal Shipyard as yard numbers 133 - 136 but unfortunately the yard became bankrupt before work could be carried out.

The hulls were eventually towed around the coast and completed at Stocznia Marynarki in Gdynia.

The photo shows hull number 212 (Cenal 134) arriving at Gdynia under tow on 27:07:2001. This hull had been laid down, 24:08:1998 and launched 11:12:1999. She was eventually completed 15:04:2002 and delivered to Splendour Shipping as BUE Stronsay. In 2004 she was renamed Grampian Ranger, owned by North Star Shipping (Aberdeen) Ltd. (mgr : Craig Group Ltd.)
