This fine ship is Seatrain Ohio, formerly USNS Mission San Jose (T-AO-125). She was a Mission Buenaventura class oiler completed in 1944. Such a shame she has to be scrapped! Great shot!

The Ohio has been in use since 1993 as Marad's floating workshop and storage barge there in the Beaumont Reserve Fleet. She replaced the Private Frederick C Murphy (x-Maritime Victory) at that time. She's still being used in that role, but is scheduled to be retired and downgraded to disposal next year. Judging from the looks of her (that bridge wing looks scary), they will probably scrap her fairly quickly. I last stepped aboard her in 2004 and she didn't look that bad then.
