This is the infamous Ontonagon tug, owned by Marine Specialty Co of Texas. Built by Upper Peninsula Shipbuilding Co and delivered in 1989, she had a high "bird house" tower. The shipyard went broke and it took nine years to complete the tug and ten years to complete the companion barge, which was towed out of the St. Lawrence Seaway in December of that year by this tug. The barge went aground at least once and was holed by ice. I took a photo of the tug in Houston in 1997, but she was laid up then. Look for it in the tugs section.
Perhaps she was later wrecked in a hurricane.
