This is the 2nd vessel to be named Pulau Pinang. The 1st vessel which was built in 1956 and served Penang - Butterworth until 1990 had being sold to Indonesia back in 1990-ties, i'm not sure what is her current name but if not mistaken i came across with some blur pics of her in Surabaya serving Ujung Kamal route for JM Ferry. Hope someone could provide her latest photos. This current ferry was built together with her sister (Pulau Payar) by PSCI (Penang Shipbuilding & Construction Industries) now renamed Boustead in 2002.
