Description:

This vessel sank after a double collision in the approaches of the
port Callao, Chile during heavy fog. A pilot told me that the vessel crossed twice the fairway and had on both occasions a colision. The 2nd collision was so bad that the vessel sank. It was removed after approximate 1 year because it was sitting too close to the fairway into the port. It must hav happened in somtime Aug-Sep 2006.

Callao es una ciudad portuaria ubicada en la provincia constitucional del Callao, en el centro-oeste del Perú.

Callao es en Perú, no Chile

November 2006 - April 2007
Mid-November 2006 SMIT was contracted as well to remove the cargo, consisting of 22000 tonnes of rolled steel coil from the sunken bulk carrier. Subsequently the vessel was removed from the seabed.(source Smit)
