Very nice!

I remember this ferry ...
As a cadet 30 years ago, when berthed at Hamburg "Schuppen 81", we used this ferry to cross the harbor to "Seemannshöft" Ferry Station. The fare was 1 Deutsche Mark (today 50 €-cents or 60 US¢) ! From Seemannshöft we went by subway to Hamburg Downtown a little shopping ... had no money for the "Reeperbahn" in these days :-(

Hey Capt Peter

I ferried with her during 3 school periods at the Finkenwerder Seamans School in Hamburg (MOSES-FABRIK in german language) from 1975-78 to the St.Pauli Landungsbruecken and from there with the subway to the Feldstrasse. The theoretical school was there, and two days a week we stayed in Finkenwerder
for practical drills. Was a good time and sailors lerned something compared with today. The Finkenwerder school was closed and also demolished in the 90,s

Hi Ted,

yes, so it was in these days.
Students and seaman used public transport and arrived everywhere..

Nowadays students need cars and the seamen remain on board. :-(

for German speaking viewers here a nice website about these ferries:
