You two are cluttering up my inbox with these mutterings in German! Never could master that language despite my best efforts. I did learn how to order a beer! :-D

Oops - sorry I didn't know all is going to your inbox :-) We talked first about how a good angle this is, to look on the ship's deck, then that it is possible from other places too and finally we gone totally off the topic and the talk was about that passengers on cruiseships' decks do not certainly look better than containers on deck - if we talk about the old, tanned, wrinkly'n fat sort of :-D
Though, I think it's good to use some German here, every now and then because some who do have English as a motherlanguage do seem not really to understand, that English is also not easy. I had to find this out, when having some software-problems here on this site, and explaining in English is a hell 8-)

Well, I cannot disagree with the comments about your photo of the Maersk Penang. But I don't trust a language that puts its verbs at the end of the sentence and has such long words! :-D I was getting fairly good at what I call "tourist German" when I was stationed near Stuttgart in the US Army 1968-1970 and even purchased a tv to watch the German news and picked up a lot from that. But then 40 years of not using the language! You should see me try my French when I am up on the St Lawrence during the summers!  Glad no one I know is listening to me!

I am really enjoying all of these incredible shots! I caught her myself up there almost 2 months ago now.

Thanks, well and for me it was a really unusual view as well, to the deck of the ship :-)

Hello Peter, greetings to Hamburg, my favourite shipspotting-place as well :-D :-D :-D Probably they did paint the ship, but paint didn't last too long. Seem such as well on some Hapag Lloyd ships that been CP ships before, black peels off and show the red paint underneath.

Very, very nice photos of ships in Montreal that you are posting. I like them very much. Where did you take them from?
If my memory is correct the paint job on the hull is about 11 months old!

I did take the photos in the port of Montreal, I didn't know the paint is 11 month old, I have seen the ship earlier this year at Rotterdam and it was loosing it's paint, and showing the underneath black paint already. Made me think, that Maersk's paint is not the best they are using, together with the other typical things like rain, cold etc., which cause paint not to dry off as it should.

Another greats shot Cornelia, how did you take this shot ??, with a chopper??

No, not the flying sort of, but the floating sort of, chartered by Hapag Lloyd and named "Jonni Ritscher". It's not the slowest, but not fast enough to take off and fly :-D
