FRIDTJOF NANSEN was built 1919 by Kalundborg Skibsvaerft at Kalundborg (DK) as the cargo carrying gaff schooner EDITH. Sold to German owners in 1927, lengthened 1952, still using sails until 1956. Bought 1981 by Capt. H. Temme and rebuilt as a sailtraining vessel for young people 1991/92 at Wolgast (D). She is rigged as a 3-masted main-topsail schooner, also known as Jakassbarque. Her owner still seems to be H. Temme, port of registry is Stralsund (D).
