SOLVANG was built in 1930 ar a cargo carrying sailing vessel at Sagvag (N). Almost nothing is known about her time in Norway. In the late 1980s she was rigged as a gaff schooner at Hamburg (D) following British examples. SOLVANG is now owned by the association SOLVANG e.V., homeported at Greifswald (D).
