On 6 February 2006 the Hanife Ana motor vessel flying the Turkish flag (width 9.2 metres and length 142 metres, General Cargo No IMO 6909064, registration No 745, TSL 9522, probably owned by Tribzon Denizcilik Sanayive Ticaret Ltd Sti) ran aground in Italian territorial waters at Costa Merlata di Ostuni (Brindisi). It was en route from Ravenna to Istanbul and it had on board over 100 tons of fuel and lubricant.
