Description:

Farley Mowat, the Sea Shepherds' vessel captured by the Canadian Coast Guard as seen in Sydney, N.S.

On 12 Apr 2008, a Royal Canadian Mounted Police tactical squad stormed this former Norwegian fisheries research vessel, charging its captain and chief officer of violating Canadian law by getting too close to the annual seal hunt in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
In 2009, the vessel was sold for $5,000 with plans to have her refitted. The latter never happened.
In 2010, the vessel arrived in Lunenburg, NS, and later in the Shelburne, NS harbour in Sep 2014.
Here on 25 Jun 2015, the vessel sunk in her berth, forcing the Canadian Coast Guard to mount a $500,000 cleanup operation to have her refloated.
Despite multiple court-imposed deadlines to remove the vessel, the rusted remains of this once notorious MV Farley Mowat continued to rust away.

Well sir, :-o
From what I know about Sea Shepherd, they never harm anyone in all their history... :-? Can't say the same about the stuff done by some other in the St-Lawrence Gulf...

Well, I'm sorry if the comment offended you, but the Sea Shepherd society uses so-called "terrorist" methods to persecute fishing fleets at work on the sea. During the seal hunt several years ago, Capt. Paul Watson brought the Mowat in so close to a piece of ice the sealers were working that the wake capsized the ice clamper, and dumped the sealers into the frigid Gulf waters. This in my opinion is harming other humans.
