Commissioned in June 2003, Her Majesty’s Custom Cutter Vigilant is one of several modern counter-smuggling vessels built at a cost of £4.5 million each. Her patrol area is off the South East of England and the crew are on 30 minutes stand-by to intercept potential targets. They work in all weathers, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
