That's an interesting coat of paint, a little less ominous than the black on her now, but still the Farley Mowat all the same. Definitely not my favourite ship, but still a good picture.

Allan

I think she was a fairly decent looking ship when built, but the Sea Shepherd all black scheme certainly does make them look like the pirates that they say they are.
When I took this picture Paul Watson was standing right next to me, and I sent him an earlier photo of Cleveland Amory (ex CCGS Thomas Carleton) which is posted on their web site. It had painted diagrams on the side for all the "kills" they had registered, just like a fighter plane - it listed a number of whalers they had rammed, etc., Scary people.

I hope whoever buys the Farley Mowat has good luck with it, because it's probably a pretty unlucky vessel. The Sea Shepherds tried everything they could to interfere with and ruin the seal hunt, but it still goes on and they lost their flagship. I've visited their site before, and I saw your picture. I must say that red and white looked a lot better than the pirate scheme. I wonder if anybody will ever use the water-cannon toting Farley Mowat again...

Now that is different!!!!!!!!! Must be a story to be told about it. Looks like something we would get from Thomas in Norway. :-D
