I am ploughing through the NSW Court of Appeal - states the tanker was 312nm off Coledale; but later claims this was 3.5nm. Can I assume 312nm is the accurate figure?

That is correct, and she was brand new at the time, having arrived 5/11/1975 at Port Kembla from the builders. Three tugs were involved in the tow, the others were the Duckpellers SHELL COVE and CAREENING COVE.

Nice photos, Brendan. Can you please confirm that this is the vessel that towed (resulting in a salvage claim) Texaco Southampton into Sydney, Dec 1975?
