Her gantry crane would be longer/bigger/heavier in order for FEUs to pass through it if loading sideways from quay was meant to be possible. Not suitable for a ship of this size.

The loading concept of this ship series was quite original:

Containers were rolled in via stern ramp and tunnel under superstructure, under 38t Liebherr gantry crane.
The gantry crane stowed the containers in one of two holds, equipped with guides, adjustable to container size.

The capacity was 111 TEU - 44 in two layers in holds, 61 in two layers on hatch covers and 6 more on trailers.
A version without gantry crane was also offered, with container capacity increased by another 14 TEU.

The container guides could also be removed, in order to store other type of cargo. Tween deck could be mounted, if needed.
It was also possible to carry 12 cars - they were lowered in a container to hold No.1 and rode in place through bulkhead cutouts.

I was wondering, why a gantry crane with outreach to quay was not used. But I guess, it would cause too big heeling moment.
