Vessel was offered for sale in Feb 2012; Randy O'Brien, owner of Haida Gwaii, BC, based O'Brien & Fuerst Logging, got this vessel for the incredible low price of $90,111.11.
Just before the Point Henry was taken out of service, the Coast Guard had spent $140,000 on the vessel's machinery!
O'Brien also purchased sister vessel Point Race (formerly based at Campbell River, BC) for the same price. He plans to base the two vessels as private yachts; one at Haida Gwaii and leaving one in either California or Mexico for winter cruising there.
