I haven't been to Kahnawake in years actually since when it was quite risky to venture out in this area... I presume times have changed.

Not really, its worth the risk, :-D yes times have changed and it is right behind the church and other places as far as the entrance to the canal is quite safe during the day, I have only been asked once what my purpose for being there?, was by a conservation officer telling me that I was ok as long as I did not fish or hunt, as a non native it is not allowed,when he saw the camera he said its the best way to shoot, never liked to do any of the above so I was ok.
