CODE OF CONDUCT

The Forums on this Website should be a place where everyone regardless of who they are can gather to socialise and discuss with like minded people in a safe and welcoming environment.

In order to make that happen we have certain rules that all members should adhere to.

BASIC RULES

I agree that if I contravene any of the policies in this document my participation in the online forum can be limited, revoked or suspended by the Webmaster.

I agree that I am personally responsible for my postings and specifically I agree that I will not libel, slander or defame any other person with offensive, arrogant, abusive, sexist, racist content and will not use language that demeans others.

I will agree to the right of others to express opinions I do not agree with even if I am completely opposed to the opinion.

I will agree NOT to delete a comment and thereby disrupt the Topic which in turn makes a nonsense of the thread and puts the website into disrepute.

I will agree that I will not re-submit a deleted photograph unless it has been amended in accordance with the Website Rules and Guidelines

I will agree that I will not hold more than one account in fairness to other members and will only have one username.

HAVE RESPECT FOR OTHERS

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but no one is entitled to attack others for sharing, or nor sharing that opinion.
If you cannot communicate without using combative, aggressive or demeaning language then please keep those comments to yourself or reply using a personal message, do not use the Website Forum or Photograph Comments with the sole intention of irritating others.

Attacks toward or inappropriate comments direct at any of the Shipspotting Management Team or attempts to derail a thread will be removed as will your Forum Privileges.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Whilst we are committed to the principles of free speech and the absence of censorship certain activities or discussions may be damaging to the reputation of Shipspotting.Com and cannot be permitted under the guise of free speech.
The resources of Shipspotting.Com are limited, as a member of this community you must participate responsibly and with appropriate respect to other members, their opinions and beliefs.

PENALTIES
If an inappropriate remark is made in either a Forum or Photograph comment or if any of the Basic Rules are contravened then you risk a suspension of membership for a period ranging from seven to thirty days, if a second breach of these guidelines occurs then a Total membership ban will be imposed.

We do not enjoy banning or suspending members but will not hesitate if it is considered necessary to maintain the harmony and credibility of the website for the benefit of the majority.

These penalties will be strictly adhered to
