But Korean hangul characters are actually letters, and there are only 24 of them, so it's not a problem to read them. They may look more difficult, because they are "packed" in "groups", but still so much easier that Chinese symbols.

There is a significant difference between chinese / korean and japanese Characters

금 (keum, but also geum, or something in between) means (among other things) gold, while 어 (eo) means fish. The same is also written in Chinese characters in the middle.
