Description:

Steam Tug "preserved" on the road to Cape Cod as an ice-cream parlour at a diner. Her engine is left foreground. A non-condensing single cylinder engine of about 450 hp. The engineer needed to be pretty skilled to avoid the dead centres with the Queen Mary or similar bearing down on the vessel.

If this is the tug that was next to the rotary off RT 25 and the Bourne Bridge just before Cape Cod, then she's gone now. That tug was removed and the restaurant torn down to make room for another CVS drugstore. The Cape Cod Canal is nearby, occasionally a ship or barge goes through. The canal connects Cape Bay Bay with Buzzards Bay, saving ships from having to pass around the outer length of Cape Cod.

Steve
