Yes the guns were already made I believe which allowed tne ship to be built quickly. It was though too late to make her into war service.

Yes Ralph, that would appear to be correct and having been used by Courageous and Glorious during WWI they were removed during the conversions of those ships into aircraft carriers in the 1920’s and “re-cycled”, which was a very common practice.

I went to see this magnificent ship soon after she arrived at the Faslane scrapyard in Scotland and just before demolition really got underway. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera when I was 13!

Hard to believe that this battleship was comissioned as late as 19461 mrdot.
