I remember being just a kid when I cruised this ship from Freo to Singapore. I also remember that something happened when the ship lost power and we were stranded near Christmas Island off the coast of Western Australia in 1979. We drifted overnight into the day and ended up way off course. The best part of the Turkemania was hanging my feet off the bow with my sister when we were stranded near Xmas island. The other awesome moments were when we crossed the equator. The Russian staff were just amazing and so cool. We had a ball!
