Excellent photos, It would be interesting to see how it performs in rough sea conditions including a moderate swell. Has anyone any idea of its underwater hull shape?

I would of never thought seeing a ship this wide or in a roughly triangular shape, nice shot though.

Thanks for the response! Was about 10 spotters on the bridge this morning and cars stopped completely when they saw this "wall" come towards the bridge :-) I'm gonna try to take the departure also. Find uot when they leave and try to get the keys for the bridges towers again :-)

Crazy Dimensions, almost more width than length.

I belive she is a geosismic vessel, this type is called "cheese portion shape" she tows a lot of floating wires which produce explosions and receive the waves produced in the seabed indicating the possibility of petroleum in the area, this is the reason of the wide stern, to fit as much wires as possible.
Sure many of us met at sea ships of previous generations and notice to mariners and VHF informing about positión course, speed, and the berth to be given.
Beg your pardon if explanation is not very good, I'm not an especialist in this ground.

Is this supposed to be part of a ship or is it the final ship afloat- are they mooving to a new shipyard to add more parts
