And to answer the question on how to load / unload : they roll them on board and later roll them back to shore.

Hi,
there is no under deck cargo. "Just" Ballastwater. She used to be a crude oil tanker. Most of these kind of heavy lifters started the career as bulker / tanker

As Ken alluded to earlier post would be interested in learning how ship is "balanced" for sea voyage. I am not the greatest at physics or math :-), but on assumption the cranes are super Post Panamax type they would weigh up to 2,000 tons each X 5 = 10,000 MT deck cargo. With rudder partially visible suggests ship not fully drafted (8.3m). Wonder the type of below deck cargo used to stabalize ship when transporting such a dimensional load as gantry cranes.

I thought the cargo was one integral unit. I didn't realise they were all separate !!

I think this ship is very interested in avoiding rough seas. It is nearly impossible to understand how this cargo is possible even in flat sea. I think that only a few days ago, an oil installation or -rig went overboard (in the Atlantic?) and were lost from a platform,,,,,(?!!). So be carefull.

A great series of this ship Frans which illustrates how difficult it must be to balance them for the voyage.
Kind regards
Ken

Interesting series Pilot Frans. With the appearance of being somewhat "top-heavy", I wonder how ZEN HUA 26 would handle itself in rough water...?
