ANGELBURG was part of serie of four express reefers ("Angelburg", "Ahrensburg", "Asseburg" und "Ardlenburg"), built by Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft AG, Kiel (Germany) for Fruchtreederei Harald Schuldt AG, Hamburg. She was in time charter for Standard Fruit Co. Launch date of ANGELBURG was 14.9.1966, she came in service in December 1966. Length 148 m, beam 19,2 m, depth 8,05 m. With a 10-cyl.-2 stroke-Howaldt-MAN-Diesel of 14.000 hp she had a service speed of 23 knots. In that time one of the fastest reefers on the oceans. She had 14 reefer holds of total 347.800 cbft, cooled in six groups of holds. Crew 38. Derricks 7 x 3-5 tons, 1 x 10 tons.
Hope this may assist. Regards Peter
