Aka "the arrows of indecision".
A point of note is that uniquely within the BR empire, on their operated ships the logos were different on each side of the funnel such that the upper arrow always pointed towards the bow. That was not the case on the trains.

The funnel logo is that of British Rail. At the time it was said to mean that British trains didn't know whether they were coming or going
