Description:

US Army Corps of Engineers hopper dredge. She is a twin screwed, twin shafted vessel that is used for emergency and national support dredging anywhere in the world. Supposedly she is the only vessel in the world that can discharge material three ways - through conventional bottom discharging, through side casting, and pumping material ashore in a pipeline.
Seen here going east towards the Atlantic Ocean past the ocean beach overlook of Fort Macon of Atlantic Beach NC leaving the Morehead City area.
