Description:

K.N.S.M.s 1944 Krimpen a/d Ijssel built STENTOR is seen passing Maassluis on the morning of 11th July 1968 outbound for Rotterdam into the teeth of a storm which stopped all further shipping movements on the Nieuwe Waterweg that day.

STENTOR was delivered in February 1944 for use by the German Government as GIJON and returned to her owners in 1946.

Later: 1969 MARIANNA - 71 PROSPERITY (George Kalogeras)
In January 1974 she suffered engine failure and grounded in Perelle Bay, Guernsey, after breaking her tow in heavy weather during a voyage from Oulu in Finland to Piraeus with a cargo of timber. She later slipped off the rocks during a gale on 6 February 1974.
