Description:
J. Ludwig Mowinckels of Bergen’s 1959 Naples built SALTA is seen passing Portishead on 24th August 1968, exactly fifty years ago, inbound for Avonmouth from Port Alfred while on time charter to Saguenay Terminals of Canada. Lloyd’s Shipping Index indicated that she was to be renamed ALTAVIA under the German flag.
Later: 1968 FLAVIA - 72 FEICHI - 81 JIAO JIANG
She finally arrived at Chittagong on 30th January 1988 for breaking.
