Operator: Compania Maritima San Basilio, Piraeus, Greece (Marchessini Lines).
Built: 1960 by AG ‘'Weser’’ Werk Seebeck, Bremerhaven, Germany. Yard no 847.
Propulsion: 2 x AG ’’Weser’’ steam turbines of 7.700 shp (total) geared to single screw shaft. Speed: 17 knots.
1977-AL MAHROUSA (Kuwait flag).
1977-damaged by collision Kuwait Roads 14/4, laid-up.
1981-to breakers at Gadani Beach, Pakistan 24/2.
Marchessini Lines, headed by Panaghi D Marchessini, was a ‘New York-Greek’ operation which ran liner services between the US and Europe and US to the Far East. London’s Tilbury Dock was their regular UK port of call on the US-European service and it was from there that EURYLOCHUS was departing when photographed on a murky 4/7/1969
