1991: ownership transferred to Indian Government (Andaman & Nicobar Administration)
2019: sold for scrapping (Tradewings says at Alang, robindesbois.org says Pakistan but the former is probably correct); renamed “Akb” & re-registered in Gabon for delivery voyage.

Yes that was what everyone expected I think. I was also suprised to see her end up in Gadani. However, passenger ships are the least desirable ship to scrap as the steel content is relatively low compared to tankers/bulkers/containers.

Thanks, rd77! My guess was that an Indian ship would be more likely be sold to an Indian breaker than a Pakistani one (given the history etc. etc. between the 2 countries)

She was resold to Gadani. It was also reported in the weekly update from the scrap middlemen of GMS. I would always trust Robin des Bois on scrapping over Tradewinds. The priority of Tradewinds is always getting news out quickly, while Robin des Bois is looking at scrapping all the time.
