The Iquique General Service Boat was built, entirely, in the ASMAR Shipyards in Talcahuano, and has within its main roles the surveillance and control of jurisdictional waters, as well as carrying out search and rescue tasks in the sea.
Among its secondary roles are the control and combat of aquatic pollution, the maintenance of maritime signaling, logistical support to isolated areas, protection and defense of ports, and logistical support to special forces.
