Description:

The 1986 Wismar built, Russian owned, SILVER LAKES is seen at Birkenhead on 1st January 2006.

Ex- HENNIGSDORF - 97(Deutsche Seereederei VEB - the ship was originally to be named STRALSUND)

Ex- INANC - 01 (Turkish owned) AEOLOS - 01 JUPITER - 04 (Navitrade, Piraeus)

29.04.2003: Went aground off Moschchnyy Island on a voyage from St. Petersburg to Israel. LOF (Lloyd's Open Form) signed with Tsavrilis. Salvage delayed due to heavy ice.

25th May 2003 refloated and towed to the anchorage off Kronstadt undamaged.

14th November 2003: Arrived at St. Petersburg in tow from the anchorage and arrested.

Sold at auction in June 2004, she was nominally purchased by Silver Lakes Shipping Ltd. and the management initially allocated to ABC Maritime A.G., Nyon, Switzerland.

In September 2005 the management was formally taken over by Ander Ltd. of St Petersburg.

In May 2006 her management was taken over by Raider Ltd., St. Petersburg.

Hi Matt, is that you from Chester way? I am currently in the middle of a programme to (re)scan and post all of my colour negatives. Also regularly posted are my photos from Portishead taken exactly fifty years ago. My negatives from 1971 are already scanned; 1972's will be scanned next year and so on (as long as I am able). Hopefully there will also be time to complete the scanning and posting of my colour slides. Best regards. Malcolm
