Earlier today I was looking through several photos that I took in 1997 when I was aboard her during the final world cruise. I'd captioned one of the pictures 'Leaving the Pacific for the final time.' There were other pictures of the final transit of the Panama Canal. I suddenly realised then the historic significance of the pictures.
