Tonnevolds Rederi A/S of Grimstad, Norway's 1955 Gothenburg built tanker THORDIS is seen passing Portishead, outbound from Avonmouth bound for Milford Haven to load a cargo for Port Jerome exactly fifty years ago today, on 2nd May 1971.

Thordis had been laid up at Grimstad on 4 October 1971. Initially sold to Lorentzens of Oslo, she was renamed Thomas but remained idle until purchased by the New York based Greek owner Antonis Manthos, arriving at Hong Kong on 28 May 1973. Following surgery she sailed by October 1973 as Kassos, still as a tanker, but by May 1974 was renamed Souli.

She finally arrived at Bilbao on 15.6.78 for breaking
