Two fantastic pictures, perhaps the best ship pictures I've ever seen.

Houseflags were usually only flown in port or coastal waters.
The only flag in use at sea was invariably the national ensign, which was primarily for identification purposes.

Heading into that severe looking weather at 22 knots, there wouldn’t be much left of the house flag in the morning. Houseflags weren’t cheap!

Hard to say which is the better shot? This one or the other at closer distance. Both look like a painting. Just wonderful!

A very beautiful shot. Lerda is another of those ships onwhich I dearly wish that I had sailed. Sadly, I never even saw her.
