Description:

Blue Star Lines' 1964 Bartram, Sunderland, built HALIFAX STAR (which was launched as QUEBEC STAR) was photographed passing Gravesend inbound from Ashdod for one of London's enclosed docks on the misty morning of 18th March 1972, exactly fifty years ago today, while on charter to Sven Salen.

HALIFAX STAR, which was lengthened in 1973, was briefly laid up at Falmouth from 20th June 1983 before loading a cargo at Brest, sailing on 24th September for Singapore and then on to Beilun in China for breaking.
