I remember the Pamir with its connection in the movie "Windjammer". It passed the Christian Radich and later the crew was informed of the loss of the Pamir. I recall there were no survivors, but I could be wrong. If you have never seen "Windjammer", I recommend it to all fans of sailing ships. I have it on Blu Ray, the film was made in the Cinerama format which I saw the movie in a theatre on my birthday.
