Engines: 2 x 8-cylinder diesels, 460 b.h.p., by Gardner Engines Ltd., Manchester
Speed (under power): 10 knots
Completed 1971 as “Captain Scott” for the Dulverton Trust & operated by the Loch Eil Trust.
Sold 1977 to the Sultan of Oman, renamed “Shabab Oman” & placed under the purview of the Ministry of Youth
Commissioned into the RON 1979
Refitted 1984 as a three-masted barquentine by Lürssen Werft GmbH & Co. KG, Lemwerder, West Germany
Replaced by a new ship of the same name (IMO 9667215) August 2014 & laid up at the RON Naval Base
