The hull of future cruisevessel NORWEGIAN SKY is here seen in october 1997 at the yard of Bremer Vulkan, Vegesack, who built the hull.
Originally ordered by Costa Armatori, who intended to name the vessel COSTA OLYMPIA. She was launched in october 1996, but the yard went bankrupt, and the hull was laid up at Vegesack.
In november 1997 the hull was sold to Norwegian Cruise Lines, who in march 1998 had it towed to Bremerhaven. And there at Lloyd Werft, the vessel was coimpleted summer 1999 as NORWEGIAN SKY.
