Exploded & burned out while discharding at Wilmington 23 July 1953; towed to Baltimore & laid up.
Arrived at National Bulk Carriers, Kure Shipbuilding Division, Kure, Japan (a shipyard leased in 1950 by Ludwig for building his own ships) May 1955 for conversion (including shortning) to suction dredger.
Conversion completed 1956; now 6,663 gross tons; renamed “Sealane”, owner Universe Tankships Inc., Monrovia (D.K. Ludwig)
Ownership transferred 1963 to Continental Dredging Inc., Monrovia (D.K. Ludwig)
Bought & renamed 1981 by Green Diamond
Reported “sold to breakers” 1983.
