WELCOME TO SHIPSPOTTING.COM
Description:
One of the many V/ULCC's pciked up by Ceres in the early eighties, the Fortuneship L is shown here discharging at the BP refinery in the 6th Petroleum Dock, whereby visual access was obtained by using the access roads to the ECT Maasvlakte Container Terminal, which were still under construction at that time. It was not only a good option to photograph ships but also to take my small children to safe parts of the beach. It must have been around 1987, as the ship has already adopted the camouflage grey livery that helped not to be spotted in the Persian Gulf.
The ship was delivered by Mitsubishi (#1716) in 1975 too Grand Bassa tankers and named Grand Brilliance. Ceres bought her in 1982, and finally sold her to Bangladesh breakers in 1995.
Former name(s):
- Grand Brilliance (Until 1982 Jan)
