Adrian and friends, just to advise you that BAGHDAD had sailed from Rotterdam on 10th August 1985. She was on voyage from Antwerp to Aqaba via Rotterdam.

Hello Adrian and Pieter,

my favorite is SINDBAD (IMO 7217949). Have a look at the positions of the rust on the hull.

We may need a shot of Sindbad from the port side.

Pieter, we have 3 pictures from the port side taken almost at the same time. None of the ships resembles the photo we are looking for. So I think it can only be the SINDBAD.

I have re-uploaded the original posted by Adrian, and I would like to opinions on what is readable in the green spot on the bow. I think that I can make an H at the extreme right, which can only mean that this is the BASRAH.

Thank you for sharing this picture. I love this ship. I were on her board for about six years with my father who was her chief engineer. On the time when this picture captured i were somewhere playing on her board. I built a model for her ten years ago, so i know every single detail of her . I can say 100% this is Baghdad. Baghdad had only one radar. Basrah had two radars the second one was installed on same level of the main radar but to right of it . While Babylon had two radars but the second one was installed under the main radar. Sindbad had two too, and the second one was installed by its own mast on the starboard wing.

Why would you delete, it can easily be enhanced to an acceptable shot.

Trying to make sense of scribble on slide with faded ltters I would say Baghdad

The name is in the green spot, and all I can see is that last character is most likely H, which would lead to BASRAH.

One of the four Typ 595 general cargoships built by the Kherson shipyard for Iraq. BAGHDAD, BASRAH, BABYLON or SINDBAD
