I have gone for the Australind as the Araluen changed name in 1971 plus Malcolm has just posted that the Australind was in the area on that day

Yes, she is AUSTRALIND. She had sailed from Hamburg on 16th May and Rotterdam on 23rd May (bound for Antwerp) on a voyage to Valparaiso. She was subsequently sold on the River Tyne, sailing on 9th September 1975 as JOHANNA U.

ARALUEN had a step in her bridge front and a different shaped funnel than this ship (less conical).

There are only two possibilities and the other would be "ARALUEN". However, "ARALUEN" was lengthened in 1966 (ref: Bob Scott's photo on site) to provide an extra hold forward of the bridge. This photo dates from 1975, so must be "AUSTRALIND".

This looks like Australind, 5031183. and to facilitate solving the mystery, I enhanced the shot slightly.
