Agreed, these certainly are a lot more attractive than some of the newer stuff, & by the way, what is SOLAS, please???

Sunbird solas stands for Safety Of Life At Sea.

The next deadline for vessels to be in other words "upgraded" is 2010.

I'm not sure if some other operator could for instance take over the Black Prince after this date or not, our does she HAVE to be scrapped??

Maybe another member knows the answer to that question.

It's amazing how long these Olsen ships have been sailing! Wish that could be said for many other ships!

I agree oldie's like Black Prince are getting thin on the ground.

Regarding the Black Prince, Fred Olsen announced a while back that by 2010 she would have to be "withdrawn" due to SOLAS.
